7 Apr 2026: In the article “Decades of image-based sexual abuse: How perpetrators evade tech platforms and the authorities,” we are presented with the many forms IBSA takes, and the frightening reality that even as regulatory responses improve, survivors are still navigating social and institutional systems that can inflict harm all over again.
At The Moxie Collective, we see this firsthand and strongly believe that healing does not happen in isolation. On the contrary, language, community, and validation are powerful tools in reclaiming agency.
As the article highlights, many survivors only come to understand their own experiences after connecting with others who have been through something similar. That moment of recognition matters. It is also where our work begins.
We will continue to advocate for survivor-centric policy and to build the kind of peer support infrastructure that meets survivors where they are.
There is still much to be done. But visibility like this is a critical step forward, and we are grateful for it. A sincere thank you to Kai Xiang Teo for covering this issue (once again) with care and an eye toward the people at the centre.
